June Association of the Month: Stratford Referees Association

Proud to announce that the Team Stripes inaugural Association of the Month for June is the Stratford Referees Association. 



Located in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Referees Association has a proud history of developing officials. Currently the association has about 90 officials in their ranks working a combination of minor hockey and girls hockey. They have officials working between both the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, and the Ontario Womens Hockey Association. 

The Stratford Referees Association has been the starting point for a few NHL officials, including both Steve Miller and Devin Berg (pictured below), who are both linesman currently working in the league. 

Managed by an executive committee, the association places a major focus on it's newcomers and supporting them in their first season. Big thanks to Jeff MacDonald for submitting this information!
